THE HISTORY
The Story Of This Bar
Old building. Younger bar. The Off Track Saloon opened in 2016, and in 2026 it marked ten years on South Broadway. In that relatively short time, the place has accumulated the kind of personality that cannot be ordered from a catalog.
Collected, not designed
Calling the interior decorated does not really do it justice. Beer memorabilia, license plates, taxidermy, photographs, signs, bottles and oddball objects cover the room from the bar top to the ceiling. Nothing feels arranged to imitate an old tavern. Off Track feels collected rather than designed.
A South Broadway saloon
The bar occupies an older South Broadway storefront, but the age of the building and the age of the business are two different stories. Off Track itself dates to 2016. The character it has built since then comes from the people, objects and routines that have filled the space.
Why Off Track belongs in the archive
Some bars have memorabilia. Off Track has an ecosystem. The old South Broadway setting, motorcycles out front, packed ceiling, taxidermy, strange relics, working kitchen and the people around the bar have created a place worth documenting. The best taverns are not museums. They are living places, and Off Track has built a lot of life into its first decade.
